I had a go kart for a long time and recently it just came to my mind to i should make my HF 6.5hp engine a little stronger. I'm planning on putting a custom exhaust and a K&N filter on it. Can anybody send me links or tell me stores where I can go to buy these parts.

you should get thesse through affordablegokarts.com and if your doing that, upgrade to a bigger main jet, you wont regret it, also, take off your carb and one of your gaskets its upside down, turn this the right way and it will run much greater

With an engine that been run for a while, removing the carb may break the intake gasket. Either remove the carb and replace the gasket, or dont touch it. The gasket shouldnt and isnt in most cases, upside down. Probably some stupid Chinese person not paying attention.

no not exactly. the gasket should be fine.unless the engine was never maintained and wasn't kept out of the weather.

in every clone ive seen its upside down, CHECK GASKET ALIGNMENT: While working on a clone engine we found an intake gasket had been installed backwards from the factory, constricting the flow of fuel. When installed correctly, the gaskets do not fit perfectly and can be trimmed with a razor blade to be sure they do not block any passage ways. Every little bit counts. We even file down the back side of the bolt that holds the throttle blade in the carburetor so it does not interfere with the flow of fuel. They were right side up in both of mine. Mine tore when I removed the carb for the first time. My engine lives in the garage and never sees water or mud.

All of mine have been installed correctly as well. All 11 of them.

Make your exhaust at least 10-16" long.. don't just try to make it loud. Look at the racing go kart clone engine pipe setups. They aren't made by accident.

Can I ask how many 6.5 Clones you have owned?
