Chain too loose

Hey guys! I got a new problem here. I managet to get my engine to work but now i got another problem. My chain is too loose but not loose enough to get a link out and i have no idea how to get it tight. Here are some pics:

Youll need a chain tensioner on the lower part of the chain...
Look up skate board wheel chain tensioner...... youll see a bunch of designs...

I'm no master fabricator but couldn't you just slap a few washers or anything really to lift the motor an inch or so to remove the slack?

That is what i did but engine's stand looks a little unstable now

You can take out a full link and add back a half link or you could shim the motor or extend the slots to give you more adjustment.
Any or all of these ideas will fix it.

I would give the motor mount a little more adjustability by just making the mounting holes a little longer and sliding it to the perfect tension.. another method is to make the mounting holes very long, and put a spring on each of the back two mounting bolts so it always stays tight even as the chain stretches.
