Chain slipping while driving

Okay guys this chain on my kart is driving me nuts. It's a margay limo chassis with a 7 hp honda clone motor with a 40mm rear axle. When I start driving slow the chain in fine when I accelerate quickly I hear a loud banging noise I believe from the chain slipping. I have loosen the motor and given the chain 1/2 I'm slack still had the same problem. Checked the chain and it's not worn I also changed out the rear sprocket with a smaller new one still same problem. Also The sprockets are in parallel. Anyone we have these problems? I just want to ride my kart I haven't been able to get it going over 10mph without this problem thanks

I am 99% sure the chain isn't slipping because it would have to be insanely loose to slip. What is the condition of the chain? Is it well oiled? A picture might help.

Check for dead links, thats what happened to mine. The chain has dirt in it and gets stuck making the chain not able to move causing it to feel like its slipping.

Could I be putting too much stress on the clutch? I'm 200lbs

will it do the banging sound after you have accelerated? It could be the centrifugal clutch weights trying to engage, but since there is a lot of weight there it slips and makes this sound.

I would check clutch teeth too, make sure you have the same size chain for what the clutch sprocket has.

Try running the kart up on a stand or 5 gallon bucket and see if it makes the same sound.

When I run the kart in the air it's fine no noises runs good only when I am in the kart is when I'm having the problem

Well- Even from the 2nd pic....I can see you have alignment issues.......

It may be alignment. ...or a bent sprocket- but that is not aligned......

EDIT: Just putting a straightedge on the back sprocket- it looks like the motor needs to move 1/2" to the right....or the sprocket 1/2" the other way.......

If I turn your second pic90 degree clockwise and look at the alignment, it does look a little off. It could be how the pic was taken though

No- Take a straightedge and put it on the sprocket- you will see it hits the CC just inside the bell.....about a 1/2" off-set......
