So I picked up this frame and an old 8hp Briggs engine. The frame came set up with 2 sprockets with a chain already on it. What I'm needing to know, is how to find out what type of Clutch I need to get, (what type of chain fits to it that is) and what type of chain and what length I need. Was told that sometimes you can find what type of sproket it is by writing on it, but found none. Any help to this newb builder would help.

Measure the chain from one link pin to the next. 3/8"=#35, 1/2"=#40/41, 5/8"=#50. There are more variants, but this will put you in the ballpark.

Is there an existing clutch?

no clutch, wasnt sure what chain type it was, so havent bought one yet.
The frame and engine were from 2 different people. Wasnt the one that was mated with the frame originally

if you have a bike then try to put a few links from the bike chain on the sprocket. bike chain is usually #35 pitch, but if it doesn't fit (to small) then you will most likely have #40/41 chain (recommended #40 on most go karts). correct me if im wrong toystory because chain is not my strongest :D

#41 is thinner (and weaker) than #40. I apologize, I don't have the specs handy, and thanks to a wicked head cold, I can't think straight either.
Once you've sorted out the chain type, measure the diameter of the engine's crankshaft, likely 3/4", possibly 1".

Can you put up a couple of pics?

Best pic I have of the sprokets at this time. As you see, there are 2 different sprockets on the axle side by side. The guy I got it from said that they used the same chain for each. Haven't put the chain on both yet and measured how high it reaches to verify this yet. Snow just finally melted enough for me to get in my shed today :) There is a chain on it, so will measure it tomorrow.

I did measure the shaft, it is a 1''.

Looks like #35 chain and sprocket, as far as the length of chain you need you can measure once you have a clutch in place using a string or similar
