OK, what is a good quality chain? I have some of the cheaper stuff from China, and the problem is it gets stiff, no matter how much I lube it, the links start to lock up.

I swear by this stuff.
Item pictured is nickel plated, but can be had without plating for a couple buck$ less. It is made in Japan which is OK by me.
Do a search for HKK #35 chain.
Also, make sure to use chain lube specifically...and NOT oil.
