For chainsaw use only.
Not the same as chain lube. A far different application.

Is there a huge difference? It's a very viscous oil designed for lubing chains (on chainsaws), which are roller chains on the most basic level.

Dry lube is required on kart chains.
If you were to use dry lube on a chainsaw it would cease to operate in very short order.
The 2 types of chain are exposed to very different environments.
Chainsaws require a constant supply of fresh oil which is not possible on a kart.

Hmmm. Makes sense. Good to know. Will there be any ill effects of putting this on my chain?

I'm not saying oil will not work. It just isn't a good choice.
Put oil on your chain and throw some sand on it.
Do the same thing with chain lube. You'll never use oil again.
Chain will last much longer if a good chain lube is used.
At 5 or 6 bucks a can, there is no excuse not to have it on hand.
Here is one of many:
Chain lube

I am going to check my alignment tomorrow. I do notice that i do have 1 hard link on my chain but i mean that shouldnt be causing the problem.

I am thinking its a alignment/lube problem

Your sprocket shouldn't slide anywhere. It should be fixed in-line with the clutch sprocket. I will bet if you line it up and secure it, your problem is solved.
