Chain keeps breaking

i got the jackshaft kit on and it works great the chains are very short.

edit: just tried it offroad and it never fell off once

heres some pics. I tack welded the bearing flanges , and swapped my #41 chain for #40 chain after it got kinked up.

I don't want to sound negative but it sounds like a lack of maintenance ot me. A chain shouldn't get tight links unless it runs out of lubricant and then bind up.

Having a jack shaft will help control your chain slop but shouldn't reduce the stress on it.

i believe the chains kink up from the doing the sharp angles and the stress of the abuse i give my mini bike. I have had no kinking problems with the heavier 40 chain on my mini bike or the 520 chain on my dirt bike.

I see, what size cog are you using on the engine?

im using a 12 tooth sprocket and a 72 tooth rear sprocket. the jackshaft has two ten tooth sprocket so i can have a good mix of torque and top end. it has a 6:1 ratio and i ride it at 40 mph over dirt roads with potholes, large rocks, ruts ect and i also ride it at a pitbike track with some small jumps ect.

would that not put more stress on your chain again because it's going around an even tighter bend?

I tack welded the bearing flanges.....

Make sure that you do more than tack weld those flanges. With the stress you are putting on them, they had better be rock solid
