Ok so recently my grandpa bought me a non working kart and within 20 minutes i had it going. So when i first got it going it just took off when i pulled the chord. Is it supposed to do this?? And than when i finally caught up to it and hopped in i took it down the driveway and was going on the road. But when i brought it back it wouldnt slow down and i was jamming the brakes the whole time. So when i got back to the house i just hit the kill switch to stop. Is this a clutch problem???

clutch is stuck, disassemble clean inspect, if all good reassemble. it's that or the engines idle is too high

I have a clutch for sale in the For Sale section of the forums. One is #40 chain and the other is #35 chain. That is if you can't get your clutch unstuck.

Can you take a picture of your clutch? Does it have a name on it? Does it have rust on it?

i think the idle is to high also. turn it down. dont do it on jackstands though, the wheel will just spin because there is no weight on it. set it on the floor (after you turn the idle down somewhat) and adjust it as needed.

yupp. As soon as i pulled the chord and got it started it tried to take off. but not as fast as it did 10 minutes later.
