Centrifigal clutch on 250 dirt bike>>>

I'm going to fit a 5 hp Briggs engine on a 98 250 rm Suzuki dirt bike. Good luck right! What kind of centrifugal clutch would you guys recommend. Rear sprocket has 50 teeth. An adult will be riding this. No interest at this time to fabricate a jack shaft with torque converter.

I think you will need a jackshaft because i think the original bike chain is much bigger than you can get on a clutch

I already have the 5hp briggs, plus I like the challenge.
Makes sense about the size of the chain. Good point.
But can someone answer my original question about what "centrifugal clutch" is recommended and of good quality?

Any old 3/4" bore centrifugal clutch that costs $20-$30 will do. Your issue is going to be gearing.

Going off what the baja heat off road mini bikes use, you would have to hear for 15-17 mph maximum if you wanted to take the bike off road or up any sort of small incline.

I don't think "any old" cent clutch will do. The chain/rear sprocket is the odd man out on this one.
They are going to be different, period. An apples to oranges situation.
I can't see how your getting this to work without a jackshaft.

It would be for riding off road. I am going to see if I can get a centrifugal clutch and add my own sprocket to it so it will match up to the big 520 chain. I would get the original front sprocket(11 teeth I think) that's for a 250 engine and could bolt or weld it to the centrifugal clutch. So front sprocket is 11 teeth and rear sprocket is 50 teeth. I just don't know about what a proper gear ratio should be.

Let me simplify this, theres no centrifugal clutch with a 520 sprocket. Theres also no room to bolt or weld another engine sprocket to the clutch. However there is a simple solution to this, install engine, buy a 40-41 clutch which is the same size as a 420 chain and then call( rebel gears) and tell them your dirt bike model and size and they will make a 420 sized rear sprocket thatll bolt perfectly to your rear wheel. And you can order any tooth size you want. Dont let them tell you cant do it, i put a 212cc predator engine on a 2002suzuki street bike. It worked, but beware of power, it wont do everything the dirt bike used to do obviously.
