12 hp maybe? There isn't a direct correlation between cc and hp, but I think there is a common 125cc engine in most quads that puts out about that much.

Most utility engines that size are 3.5-4.5hp. The difference is having a transmission attached to it of some kind to utilize the power.

Briggs 3.5hp Flathead=148cc
Clone 6.5hp OHV=196cc
Honda 13hp GX390=390cc

It's a motorbike engine. Much more power than an equivalently sized industrial engine.

Not sure how it has "much more power" than an industrial engine. The way the power is transmitted to the axle/ground is where all of your comparison will lie.

It has much more power because the engine is a WAY better design, even "advanced" industrial engines like the Honda GX series use technology that was out dated 40 years before Honda started selling it.

For example, a Honda CT200 (which is a old, very unadvanced, slow, gutless, motorbike, probably the least powerful 200cc bike made in recent history) makes 13.5HP compared to a GX200 which makes 6.5HP. I would expect a modern 200cc 4 stroke motorbike to have about twice the CT200s power output.

Cam, you guys have the best ads ever! :roflol:

yeah and if cc's related to HP,

how come stock gx200's make 6.5hp,

and add some thick valve springs, take the governor out, blah blah blah and you now have 20 HP WITHOUT CHANGING the cc's.
