anything which resists movement of the suspension because of it's inertia is unsprung. the bell crank is at rest until you hit a bump and must be accelerated to move the shock. same goes for every other part of the suspension that moves as an effect of movement of the wheel

All I can say is I wish the guy who built it had put better shocks in it but does work well and the shocks and bell crank is out of a XR 400. It has adjustable rebound and compression. Well since my last post I have got the engine and new rear installed and have done some testing which has proven to be alot more reliable than the original set up in the photo's. I will try and get some new photos and video shortly real muddy here at the moment and been busy with work to get upto it with a camera.
gearing is a little high and anything above 4th is to fast for the paddock but cruises nice in top at 4000rpm with power to pull away with.
it still has its weak points but with some inititive and time I will get it sorted.
