I guess I would have to remove the axle first? Do you just bang it out?

Oh dear. That is a good question. On a new kart I imagine the axle slides right into the bearings and is retained laterally just by the clover hub + sprocket + drum and the wheel on the other end(?) I reckon the axle is rusted to the bearings currently. . .

Anyone know how to remove the axle from its tube and bearings? By that I mean with tips, tricks, one-and-done, “the easy way”, etc.

I would douse the axle with penetrating fluid on both ends and try banging it out but take care to protect the ends with a stout block of wood or an axle nut sitting “proud” of the threads a little so you don’t mushroom the ends of the axle. Some preparatory work of wire wheeling the rust and crud off the end of the axle that is going to through a bearing is probably mandatory.

Edited to add: I took the liberty of renaming the thread because it has morphed beyond brakes.

Just picked up this yellow one today for 100. Pretty sure it's a gk110. Wiring is a mess.
I have the large SuperWheels floor pan decals available if you need one for your restoration.
