Carburetor Problems!!

Well you guys told me to ask questions - now you may regret that decision! I bought the mint colored (yes very ugly) kart and it was far from running. The engine did run, but the throttle cable was not hooked up the right way and I don't even know if I have all the parts needed. I think I can sort out the clutch problems, the brake problems, the gas tank problems, and the kill switch problems. So here goes. I'm posting pics of what engine and carburetor I have. I purchased the linkage (you can tell it is new in the pics. Did I get the right one? The kid I bought this from had the throttle cable hooked up wrong (he had the throttle cable pulling the bent arm where there is still some yellow cable tie left in the first picture). So when you depressed the pedal the butterfly valve closed, not opened. So unless I was holding the valve closed by hand it revved up. I think what I have will fit, but still not sure where to attach the throttle cable and how this actually connects to the carb. Any and all help is definitely appreciated. I can only upload 10 pics so adding a second post to give more pics.

As you can see in the last 2 pics the new part will bolt to the engine - it is the carb connection I am lost on. Is this even the right part for this carb. Is the carb something I need to replace?

Where did you get the Throttle linkage you bought? Is it definitely for this particular engine?

Is that engine a Predator 212?
If so, Possibly go to harbor freight and look and take pics of how all the linkages and springs are hooked up stock.

I cant tell by the pics or explain where all those springs and levers go. You want to be sure and get the governor linkages hooked up correctly.

That is easy - Harbor frieght is very close - I would rather buy a new engine for $120 than spend weeks tinkering to get this running. I have no problem tinkering but my boy is dying to ride it already!!!! I got the linkage on Amazon and it looked like one I saw on a pic on google. Just got lucky I guess...

I see this a lot...Chancer was asking if it was a Predator because he recognized the plastic linkage...but he was ASKING. The reason? ....Everything is a close up...sometimes it's hard to tell what you're looking at without a whole picture.

What's this a picture of?

well I can go grab one for $120 and then take my time figuring out the rest. I will get it fixed and maybe my 5 year old will have one too!!!

It does, I was trying to put the black plastic part into the slot instead of the hole. Where is the throttle cable attached though?

Red circle is where the cable sheath is clamped, green circle is where the cable wire is clamped. Screw adjustment actually limits how far the throttle opens.

It(the cable) also can mount on the swivel directly below the red(6 o clock), on the throttle arm, and the sheath can be held to the 7 oclock position of that..
That is how I have both of my bikes setup..

That would work better on a mini bike. I went in the side on my kart because the cable was looped out behind the engine and getting caught.

Thanks - will try those tomorrow morning and see where I stand then! Also I have the air filter cover but no air filter - any harm running if it isn't dusty? Will get one asap though.

One more question. Where the fuel enters the carb there is a tube (vacuum I'm assuming), where does that need to connect. Right now it is only about a 2 inch tube that is not connected to anything. You can see it in the last picture in the first set.
