Good evening fellow Karters!
I have an Intek 206 on our Yerf Dog. I have been fighting carb issues since I got this motor on a Tin Lizzie kart, and sitting for 5 years didn't make it aNY better. I am thinking about just replacing it. I also plan to remove the governor and swap out the cam when I do, so I was thinking about using an Animal carb and Cam. I am trying to figure out what I need to do to use the Animal carb. I know I will probably have to get a different throttle cable, but I am trying to figure out if I need to swap anything else to bolt it to the motor.
I am also open to other options for the carb, I had picked the Animal because it is cheap and available, and I have become quite familiar with slide carbs on my atv's.

Go look at the lo206 engines for junior dragsters. They have bigger carbs and are the same engine platform as yours I think.

I am not necessarily looking for the upgrade portion of the carb swap...but I am thinking that I will need something different because I am not sure how I would have a properly working throttle otherwise. The carb on the motor has a funky throttle blade setup that would make hooking up difficult, unless there is something I am missing.

I have an intek 206. Governor removed
I relocated the gas tank. I copied the funky throttle arm onto flat steel and cut out my own. I used a coat hangar for the carb hook up and attached the throttle cable to my DIY throttle arm.
See pics.
