What is a good replacment carb for a 5-6 HP Briggs engine.

I seem to have a lot of trouble keeping them running decent, seems like after a week or so of not being used I have to clean it out. :furious2:

I have rebuilt several and they work good for a little while.
The tanks are clean and I have an inline filter installed.

Has anyone tried a chinese carb and how well do they work.

I run 6 hp briggs on dirt and never have that. I am wondering what is it you find in the carb? If it only happens after standing
(mine stood all winter with gas in it and no problem) for a while
I would think you have a poor quality of fuel. I'd try a different
brand and high octane - no alcohol mix.

Thanks for the suggestions, The tank is clean and has a good inline filter, it may be I'm just not getting all the trash out when I tear it down and clean it.

I have two that I tore down and soaked in carb cleaner, then blew out with air, and both are doing the same thing, either won't idle or not starting at all.

Not sure what model carb they are but they use gravity feed not tank mounted, the float bowl will be full of gas.

I am using a stock type air filter and it is clean overall.

I haven't tried stabilizer though, sounds like a good idea.

The kart sits for 2 or 3 weeks at a time until the kids decide to ride it.

I am just tired of tinkering with them and wondered if a better replacement is avaliable.
