I have a jiangdong jf390 engine and supposedly it's a copy of a Honda motor. Looking to get a new carb and the ones I'm finding have wires coming off the bowl. What are these wires for? The carb that's on it now does not have wires.

Those wires are for an Electric on/off Gas line switch... If your motor doesn't have electric than I would not buy that...

any honda gx390 gx340 knockoff carb for $20 will work (without the wires of course) The ones you are looking at are for generators iirc.

Also, you can just get a rebuild kit if you have your original carb. What is wrong with the one you got? They are cleanable, even if they look like trash.

Motor runs for about 2-3 mins and cuts off, I feel as if it's getting to much fuel and floods out. I've and it apart 2 times to clean it and still seems to be an issue. (Seen fuel exit the exhaust)

I have a older spare I'm cleaning now but if it doesn't do better I figure a 25$ carb isn't much to try.

So I throughly cleaned my spare and still the same effect, does anybody have any idea what could be causing this?

Not sure how to edit post;

No fuel coming out of the exhaust, seems as if it's not getting enough fuel now.

check valve lash with feeler gauges, and make sure your flywheel key hasnt been sheared. Id check valve lash first though.

Two different carbs creating the same scenario tells me the issue is not the carb; that's not to say it's not a fuel issue; does the carb have adequate fuel delivery from the tank? Are you sure the fuel tap is ON?

check the easiest thing first :
just after it died, open the tank cap!
if you can hear it sucking in air as popping a cvacuum, that'll be the main issue IMHO.

if it doesn't die w/o the tank cap in place it surely is.
if it was a vented cap, clean it properly if it's not a vented cap, buy a cvented one ;)

Chances are it's that easy :D
at least worth to give that a try before you spend money or work on more difficult / expensive repairs ;)
