I have a tech 4hp motor that was originally on an edger and has no carb. I had a good tech powersport carb and put it on . I cant get it to run right. Can anyone tell me why please? The motor is almost new and had no issues. I'll post a pic in a few, of what I have...

There's a lot to consider here-

First, we don't know what size engine the carb was from. Same? Bigger? Smaller? The venturi size may not be appropriate.

Second- Jetting. Even quite similar engines can have different jet requirements.

Third- Seal. Any air leaks between the carb body and the port or manifold will cause intermittent or constant lean conditions.

Fourth- Governor- Is it intact on the engine? Connected to the carb? Adjusted correctly?

This is the best pic I had. The motor is a 4hp and carb came off of a 6.5hp. Wasn't sure how to hook up governor so i kept makin the little rod to the throttle shaft a little longer n longer, just dont know what I'm doing n not afraid to admit it. Can I use a carb from a 50 cc Honda motor on this one ,and if so, what do I do about the governor?

In the land of hit-n-miss, it's best to start with a carb from similar-sized engine. Your jetting will be way off, and the flow may not be right either. The 50cc carb is way too small- your putting it on an engine that has 3x the displacement!
