Carb problems on pocket bike

Alright. I just bought a pocket bike from a friend. It wont start unless I spray quick start into the carb. Even then it will only run until the quick start all burns off. The fuel lines are not clogged. That i am sure of. The gas is good. What should i look for to fix this problem? How far should the idle screw and all screws be turned out? First off clean the carb. Take out all screws etc...spray through with carb cleaner and blow out with compressed air. Next set both screws roughly 1 1/2 turns out and adjust accordingly.

I dont know what adjust accordingly means. It wont start so how do i know if i should unsrew them or screw them inward? Also, im not to 2 strokes, i know everything about large engines, not 2 strokes. Do they all have reed valves?

Turn the screws in till there seated (dont tighten), then screw out 1.5 turns. That should get it started, from there you can adjust the screws. Not all 2 strokes have reeds, there are also piston ported, and rotary valve two strokes.
