Carb Cleanout

Hi,
I'm a prowler around here on the forums and was wondering if anyone could give me a quick tutorial on how to clean a carb. I have a 4hp Subaru Robin and it won't start. (don't worry it has gas) Thanks in Advance!

Most carbs are the same. I found some good videos on Youtube. I'd go there and check them out. Good luck!

Does it have spark/compression?
Can you get it to fire on a prime?
If not, carb is not the problem.

what is prime?

Teaspoon of gas in plug hole. No choke with throttle open.
Should run for a short burst.

The carb is pretty simple to clean. If fuel with ethanol sits in the carb for a while without being run it will leave a residue that normally clogs up the emulsion tube. If you take the carb off, remove the bolt that holds the bowl on, then unscrew the jet from the center post that hangs down the emulsion tube should slide out. Some are screwed in, but you will see it. There are 6 or 8 tiny holes that I use a small wire to unclog.
