I'm surprised Blazkowiez locked my thread explaining that this isn't the forum for this kind of topic. Hmm, I've actively contributed to go-kart engine discussion and this part of the forum is supposed to be "Off Topic", so it's ok to discuss the ignorant college professor, laptops, or airsoft guns in here but Wall Street is inappropriate? Sounds silly to me

Not to be an @ss, but you've been a member here since 2009 and only made 15 posts. Your Occupy Wall Street post was your first in 2 months; you've hardly contributed anything. Yeah, the idea was pretty funny, BUT, the Wall Street protests are a highly political topic and Blaz was just preventing an enormous argument.

It works like this:

1) The powers that be have decided that this is not a political forum, and politics are not something we're going to get into here- off topic or not. If this is an "issue" for you, I urge you to take it up with robertdjung, our administrator. It's his forum, we're lucky to have the freedom that we do have here. No need to push it.

2) As a moderator, Blazkowiez has the freedom and power to exercise his better judgement when a thread is getting out of hand, or has the potential to do so. My own political views aside (and I do have some strong ones), I probably would have killed the thread myself.

Please understand the reasoning behind keeping off Religious or Political conversations. We can all get along if we keep to non-polarizing topics.

I haven't seen two people hate each other or have horrible arguments over Briggs or Tecumseh.

That being said I feel its a pretty simple idea that we not go there. I thank those of you who understand this theory, those that refuse to keep things clean won't have a long time here, and that is on their own accord.

Again, thanks for keeping this place fun and for being a supportive community.
