Picked up a 2 seater carter kart and the jackshaft needs to be replaced. It has a torque convertor set up. On either end of the shaft the sprocket and clutch mount up using a bolt that threads INTO the end of the shaft. Looked all aver and have yet to see one with threaded holes at the ends. Its 5/8 by 13. Anyone ever come across one and know where to get one?

What's wrong with cleaning the one you have up and using it ?
New bearings some PB blaster or something on the shaft and clean it up with some Emory cloth. Clean the bolt holes up. JMO

Being dirty isn't the issue. It is the shaft it self is worn where it rises on the bearing. So even if new bearings installed it would still have a lot of play.

If that's the case use the old one and build a new one from it. JMO if you have the means/know how to do it, thought I better throw that last part in just in case someone wants to come along and correct me.

Cole mine is the same as yours.Have you replaced the jackshaft before? As far as building one, dont think it would be worth it to buy one and send it off to a machine shop to have it drilled and tapped.

I have on a few karts but have always been lucky and had what I needed here, I have done what someone already stated though, done fill work weld the places up then take back down and replace bearings, work just fine.
