I got this cart frame a little while ago, and I was wondering if anyone knew what it was? Ignore the engine and steering..

Yeah, it's UGLY! :roflol:

J/K, Looks kinda like it came from a commercial go-kart track ,minus a big fibergalss body, to me.

Ha ha it is quite ugly, but it's all I have to work with for now! The motor is a 295cc Kohler motor I got from an early 70's snowmobile. I'll try to get a better pic of the frame when I get a chance, but I think Orange Krate might be right..

Yeah its ugly now, but some bigger meats would make those nerf bars look much better.
Those front frame extensions would look a lot cooler connected with a nice bumper too.

Besides that I think its a pretty cool kart, seems mostly all factory made but I got no Idea what brand.

Hey that sounds like an awesome kart motor

Well, the family was away for a couple days and I managed to get the engine going and start making an exhaust.. It sounds pretty mean! I've already pissed off my neighbours by starting it....

Looks like a little 250cc or 300cc engine. Was that a fan cooled engine? Do you have any of the shrouds? Is that that black plastic the air box or the fan shrouds? Do you have the sleds driven clutch?

May want to make some vents in that back rest. You are ging to need to derect air onto that engine friend. Where will the driven clutch go? You may have to extend the rear out some. Unless I am missing an angle it could work at.

Yup, 295cc fan cooled.. The shrouds are missing but I plan on making some with some scrap aluminum from work.. That black plastic air box is from a citation, I won't be using that. I'll just get a small air filter.

I have the secondary clutch and chaincase from an early ski doo. The air is drawn in by the pull start so it should be ok.. I might have to make a scoop later if I find the engine's getting too hot..
I still don't have a rear axle yet so I'm not sure what i'll do yet.. I'll probably do a similar set up to this: http://www.diygokarts.com/vb/showthread.php?t=9565

The sled that the chaincase came from is long gone, but I can get a sled frame for next to nothing just down the road from where I live..
This is what it came off! My first sled mod..

It was rusted to pieces so it would of been useless anyways..

Here are a few pics of the exhaust I'm making out of old cessna and piper aircraft mufflers! I still need to drill holes in the pipe for the glasspack..

I still need to find some good tires for it and a rear axle.. I think yerf dog front tires will work (5/8 spindle) but its so hard finding go kart parts when you live on an island!
