Can anyone identify this brake caliper?

I have just picked up an old go kart last week, one of the first things than needs sorting is the worn brake pads.

The caliper has no manufacturers markings that I can see, which hasn't helped me during my ebay search for pads. I may strip this down next week once the kart has been jet washed.

As the brakes are working, I'm reluctant to take it apart especially as I don't know if I can get hold of spares - should something get lost or damaged during removal.

If anyone recognises this setup I would really appreciate some feedback!

The cart is a "Syd Ward Engineering - Hot Rod", I can't find any info on the Kart or manufacturer.

Thanks in advance, Mike.

Syd Ward Engineering is (well... WAS) a branch of

To me it looks like a predecessor of the righetti mechanical caliper or maybe the australian dent caliper
but to be sure, you actually have to remove the pads and check their backside for a marking. (these are likely to be marked... at least you can get the correct dimensions once you have it on your desk and go from there)

Thanks for the info itsid, seems this Kart was built about half an our down the road from where I work.

I'll try and get hold of some new split pins and then strip out the pads to measure them up.

Cheers.

I've worked out which pads to buy for this caliper.
I need a set of DP128 pads, they fit an Austin Mini 1.0 63-69. I will have to route a channel down the middle 3mm wide and drill a 3mm hole 30mm from the top edge to accommodate the spring.
shouldn't be too much of a task, we have a milling machine, hoover and decent masks at work. 😃
