I recently scored this free from a coworker in a non-running state. I got the engine running (see Briggs Service Manual thread in engines section), but the drive system is fouled up. I need to ID the unit to start my search for a manual. All the original markings have been painted over/destroyed. Any takers?

Okay- thanks to a disgustingly, eye-crossingly exhaustive google image search, I have ID'd it as a 1969-1979 GILSON. Still looking for year/model number...

Great link... I found that site last night while I was searching. I have emailed the site admin with all the details so that hopefully he can nail down the year and model number.
