Hey guys, I was thinking of running my cart in the rain today, but I'm not sure if the water will mess up the clutch, (it's a max torque). What do you think?

it will have a minor effect if any.

As long as your disc brake is working, the clutch will work too ;)
it's basically the same material involved...

(it reads: as long as it's not raining oil, you're good :D)

No problem at all. Some of us hardcore nutjobs run in the worst of weather, and through some pretty impressive puddles too. It'll be okay, with maybe a bit of extra slip now and again.

I actually ran water into one of mine ,while engine at idle, trying to wash out some mud/silt. It had no real adverse affect. Im still using that clutch now, on a different kart,a year later..... And a typical kart clutch can run in either direction of rotation. Its the spinning that makes the weights pop out, and they do.t care wich way they are going...... I have HEARD that you can get more life out of a clutch by swapping it from gear out to gear in, routinely..... something about the way it pulls on the bell, lateral forces,or something like that..... ??
