Has anyone tryed making their own cam buttons?
I remember about 15 years ago, my father made some when I had an old Dingo go kart, and they seemed to work rather well.
I believe he made them out of nylon.

I know they are cheap enough to buy, but I'm on a sort of time crunch, and just purchased a used Intruder 2, and noticed 1 of the buttons are missing.....or there are 4 missing, if they are supposed to be on both sides.

The buttons only need to be on the reverse side if the engine runs both directions such as an old yamaha 2 stroke golf cart...

Well, they didn't last.....I "glued" them in with high temp rtv, and they just flew out.....

I thought it only needed them on one side, but it appears that once the clutch is fully open, it touches the other side when going full throttle.

I would take pics of them, but they are gone!

It still rode well, but I am going to order 6 new ones.

You only need 3. Don't worry about "full open".
Call it a lesson learned. There' really not much call for adhesives in go karts aside from threadlockers, gasketing, and aesthetic components.
