Really surprised how similar our rigs sound....considering the wide chasm between the guitars.....

I appreciate the trip down memory lane too, although......while not guitar freindly...my favorite 'Free' song was "Low spark of high-heeled boys".....at any rate...Steve Winwood was a heel of a musician....but I always thought a better keyboard player than guitarist....,

At the family Christmas get together today....I showed my older brother the Popa Cubby video....and told him about the Slash/Winwood one.....and we started talking about musicians and stuff.....and he mentioned an Eagles biography movie....and mentioned Glenn Fry....and it made me remember when I saw him play at Six Flags....which made me remember Chuck Berry...who I also saw at Six Flags.....which made me think about some other people I saw sitting so close....I could have just about spit on them....(I talked to Chuck face to face on a break....and was less than 20 ft. away when he played.....

So also that led to people who just disappeared....he said...."whatever happened to Robin Trower???"....IDK??? Then I said...."What about Roy Buchanan? ".....That's another guy I saw play less than 20' away......I was watching him play a riff really closely.....and it didn't even look like he was looking anywhere close to my direction....but as soon as he finished....he turned and looked me dead in the face....and cracked a huge grin.....

Ahhhhh......Memories......

Wow,those are some cool stories,I too have wondered where some of those old musicians have went? The closest I ever got to any musicians with any fame was when I was standing in line to use the bathroom in Parker Arizona one time attending a Off Road race there and some guy behind me said to me what does a guy have to do to take a leak around here? and low and behold it was Ted Nugent he was racing Off Road at that time.

Just for you desertdueler.....Google up "For Sheets and Gargoyles " on YouTube.......:lolgoku:

It may be hard to hear what I'm saying after I start playing:

#1: "For you buddy "
#2: "That's what happens when you don't play a song for 20 years "
#3: "and......that's what it sounds like when your guitar isn't tuned!"

So I thought I would resurrect this thread because of all the new members we have.

So does anyone play anything, and what do you play? I combine my two passions together all the time

I have a CBG(cigar box guitar), and a 'Sea Sick Steve esk- diddley bow guitar I made a few years ago... I'll have to dig them up and show, I haven't played them in a while, but it was some good time building them...
I really like that oldschool southern style blues...good times...

Oh ya.... Talk about a blast from the past.... I thought the Ol' Poboy himself, somehow managed to get a word in edgewise.

I have been playing the drums for about 2 years, and started the bass guitar maybe 6 months ago.

Sadly, I suck at them both LOL!

Golf and being a musician, we all sucked. The trick is the average slob either sucks worse, ( especially golf), or doesn't really know good music and are easily impressed.

Thanks Paul.
