99 times out of 100 I buy from advance auto.

Not because of quality. I'm cheap lol.

I'll order online for in store pickup, then use one of the many coupon codes that they have to get a nice discount on my parts. A $30 part will turn into a $20 part, and a $100 order will turn into a $50-60 dollar order.

Also I've never had a problem bringing anything back for exchange or refund, sometimes even well outside the warranty period. Though I usually get lifetime warranty parts if they have that part with that warrenty.

Order online, by the time I drive up there (15 mins) my orders ready. Can't beat it.

Guess what...

IT WAS THE IAC VALVE!

well darn.my first guess was IAC.you done that so then i was ready to say to tighten the throttle cable.

Autozone is just as bad. i bought an oil pressure switch with dried oil in it that i dug out with a toothpick(cause i was already home). i just told them i didnt need it and went to another store.

i recommend ABC auto. they cost more but you get what you pay for. i dont think they hire people without some college unlike oreilly and autozone.
Autozone doesnt even know how to put a serpentine belt on a FWD engine. They will just leave you with a lack of knowledge while you have no power steering and car overheats.

oh and another story, lol, i had an IAC fly across the driveway when i tested it outside of the car. it just unscrewed further and further and *pewmm* .

no more pontiacs for me. been through 2. they are good seven second cars ..while they last. and front anti-roll bars are amazing for being stock.
Dont blame dodge. Blame the store.

I havent read all of this thread, but try a few things if it isnt fixed (i am a dakota guy)... take the throttle body off, and clean it up really well. take the sensors off of it and clean them too (carb cleaner will do it). run seafoam through the throttle body as directed, and in the fuel tank as well.

As requested he's a pic of the miserable POS that's sucked nearly $700 JUST to find out if it's worth putting on the road. #Roadkill

'01 Dodge Dakota, 3.9L 4spd 46RE. 4" Dynomax headers w/ Twin Magnaflow outputs, restricted flowthrough (Fancy straightpipe). Infinity and MTX 4.1 Audio w/ Twin 12" MTX Procomps under seat. Getting Garrett 91mm turbo in May if I don't drop a new Chrysler 3.0 Diesel in it...

Update:

So apparently it's still being a sh*tstock. The video below will help explain what's going on

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6P03tyDgp94
(Starter spazzing is caused from burnt relay. Not ground issue)

Also what you don't hear is after it stalls out the 2nd time, it pops as if fuel is getting out through the valves. All injectors, pump, secondary pump, filters, jets... all seem to be in check. My only guess it it's a timing or EICS issue. Cap, distributor, coil... all brand new right from Chrysler Direct.

After reading back a little bit but did you ever get the battery tested? I know you said it was an optima and you were pretty sure it was fuel related but bad batteries cause all sorts of issues and getting it tested is free. My truck acted like it ran out of gas but the it was the battery.

Is the problem only getting worse or showing up when it is cold out, after it sits for a few days, or is it just when it randomly decides to be a jerk?

Oh and what brand o2 sensors did you use, dodge does not like bosh brand sensors, they can cause issues as well, oem or ngk/ntk (the make dodge oem sensors) only for the most part. Learned that the hard way after 4 failed bosh sensors in my truck in one week.
