HElp !hello there, i am going to buy the harbor freight 7hp predator engine and was online viewing the engines when i stumbled across two 7hp engines of the same and the only difference was one was California certified and the other was not. Can anyone tell me the difference?

Emission requirements. CA is pretty stiff. I believe (but don't quote me) the CA engine has the fuel tank vented to the carb, and MAY be jetted a bit leaner. I don't know of any other differences.

Personally, I'd go with the non-CA engine- keep things simpler.

Falcon- If the labelling doesn't tell you, then I don't know. But just because it's CARB-approved doesn't mean it came from California. Just means it's approved for sale and use there.

Nick- No.
