Butterfly valve for switching to straight exhaust.

Those butterfly valves in cars where you flip a switch and the valve directs exhaust flow away from muffler and into a straight pipe. Has anybody done this?

Not that I am aware of. Most of us would just as soon decide which way to go, and stay there.

However- It IS doable. Why don't you be an innovator, and take a crack at it?

It would be very cool to be able to cut sound while driving outside of my neighborhood and then let loose when I get to dirt roads...

Hey- give it a shot! It should be pretty straightforward. Y-pipe, round flap, actuating arm.

Had a friend do it on a project build .
Simple as can be . He got a water valve at hardware store and used it .
Put a Y pipe and one side went muffler and other side had the valve and straight pipe .
In my opinion it wasn't worth the time and effort on a small engine .

Well when you live around some houses and need to be quiet-ish around them, but like the power and sound of an open exhaust, it's pretty appealing.
