i was thinking if it was a world wide thing or if only Australia did it

apart from the real bad attempt at insults in the add in text is it true that u guys dont do that kinda thing
i cant find a single good burnout by an american on you tube

yes i know its dangerous and irresponsable but we all did it when we were young
but these are organized events in a speciel area called the snake pit

ive been to a few burnout contests, not as crazy as the ones in the vid you posted. yes i guess we americans dont burn rubber like they do in australia, that was pretty radical, lol. kinda an unfair contest tho, the aussies using fully blown drag cars in a barricaded atmosphere, the american using 4 parking spots and a water hose.

but, even if you got some americans with badass rides they still would drive their cars like the ones in the vids, guaranteed they are to tight assed to drive it like it a mad man. closest thing we have to that is nascar drivers and their victory burnout.

BUT! do yall drift?? seems like the vid is kinda just badass freestyle smoked out drift

you say americans are to tight assed to drive our cars like that you are wrong. well in texas they might not be but here in washington the do alot. atleast once a day i see a burnout at a stop light. i see people wasting over a gallon in a 1/4 mile just gunning their new 'stang. but all in all yes we americans do burnout alot. but drifting is alittle more common mainly because i think its more fun. still have yet to try both of them

yea same here. yea i know. burnouts are not meant to be done in a puddle of oil or bleach. do it on pavement or your just getting tires sticky for a quicker start

i don't see burnout competitions that often. there is yearly demolition derbies that happen. there is lots of Americans doing burnouts on youtube and they don't stop till the rim is glowing.

but it is the braking part that take actual skill to keep the vehicle under control. doing donuts does not really require much. you could do it with a small 95hp truck.

Now a days, it seems like more guys simply wanna just show off doing extreme stunts like this.

I disagree. If you drive a stick (manual) you don't even use the brakes.

Sitting in one spot & destroying one tyre doesn't do it for me; as you said, a 95hp truck can do that. For me it's about both wheels spinning, car slowly drifting sideways then into a donut, that kind of thing...

As a Technician, watching these morons blow up their cars is hilarious. Bad part is, they will tow it to a dealer and say, "It just stated making noise". I personally have seen quite a few GT-S Celicas blown the F' up, good for me is, I can prove they were racing when it happened!!

No kidding, eh? Are you able to yank useful info off the computer or something?

I just don't understand the mentality. It's one thing to drop the hammer, make some smoke and peel out in a storm- but I don't understand why you'd just pin it until the tires melt, or the engine blows, or whatever.... Seems pretty dang stupid to me!

My favorite part was when the other car went by. You can just imagine the conversation:

"Hey, your car is smoking. Do you need any help?"
"Uh...... No..... I don't think so."
"It looks bad. What happened?"
"Uh...... Well..... I was leaving my driveway and something sort of broke.... and it started smoking....... I'm sure it's nothing."

Wow, I've never seen burnouts like this before. I feel inspired. I think I'll spend several thousand dollars building a car, and then run the engine at redline and use up a pair of tires in about 30 seconds. The risk of throwing a rod or burning my entire car should make it even more exciting.

Now that I think of it, I don't even need a car. I have a nice chainsaw. Maybe I should spend a couple hundred dollars installing a bigger cylinder and a fancy chain, then run it full throttle while trying to cut a metal fence post until the chain flies off. That would be about the same thing.

The best one I saw was a celica over revved to 11,000 RPM and it actually stretched the rods out and split the crank resulting in not only catastrophic engine failure, but also broke the transmission when it pushed the input shaft it on the case.

Wow... And what was the story? "Well, I was out getting groceries..."
