building my first kart

working on my first kart... working off basic plans found on the internet.. but adding a few of my own twists to the design. I've already stretched the frame by 12" in both directions to accommodate my 'fluffy' nature :)

I'm working on the details to put some basic front suspension on it. (I have bad kidneys, no suspension is just not an option)

right!!! lol. I'm 6' and 350lbs.. i love the local indoor racing go karts.. but they were clearly designed for someone who was about 5'6 and 150lbs.. lol

i've been toying with the idea of using a motorcycle engine on my kart :)
a harley v-twin with 6pd transmission could be interesting....

one of the other major design changes I'm making.. is that instead of the vertical supprots for the steering wheel coming up between your legs.. I'm going to fashion a 'hoop' from the two side rails that I can slide under.. make it a bit more comfortable..
