Hi all,
I'm officially an old guy...65+, so remember the early days of Kart racing in Pocatello, Idaho, probably beginning in '56 or so. A group of racers would set up a course in Dad's parking lot with hay bales and go at it on summer Sundays. There were a lot of Mac 10's and such and some pretty good racing.

Now I'd like to build something like a Bug and put my Hodaka 100cc engine in it. I'd use disk brakes, live axle and rig up a foot shifter. For controls, I'd set it up motorcycle-style, with throttle/brake/clutch on the bar. The hand brake and foot brake could either both actuate a single disk or I could rig up dual disk brakes. The foot shifter would be similar to the old Moon throttle pedal with a toe cup for back-shifting.

I'd start with the kick starter and have an expansion chamber pipe.

I'm looking for plans or detailed pictures of an early 60's Bug kart frame to use for construction.

Any ideas where I might find either plans or pix??

Thanks, everyone,
IdahoSteve
