Hello I'm new to the forum, but not new at all to this type of stuff. My whole life I've had ATVs, Go karts, ect.. Right now I'm only 12 years old and I have more power tools than my dad and probably the same if not more hand tools also. Even with all my grinders, chop saws, ect.. I'm safe and know how to properly use the tools unlike alot of 12 year olds. I'm a hard worker and rarley require help from older people parshly becuase my dads not real big into mechanical stuff. I have decided to buld I offroad go kart. I would like to keep it fairly simple but tough because I tend to be rough on stuff. Luckly I'm good at fixing it too. It would be nice to have shocks and two seats. I was thinking it would be nice to mount a small sheet of metal with sheet metal sides above the engine to act as a small truck like bed to put tools and stuff in. I have the tools to cut metal and welder access. I have my eye on an really junky old go chassis as a starting point.. Could you guys give me some tips or pics please.

And I though I was a mechanical guy! Welding at 12, thats amazing. ave fun with your build. i would recommended you go with double A-arm in the front and run dual independent swing arms in the rear. this would be the best fabrication/durability/ride quality ratio.

if you run with independant swing arms in the front and a live axle in the back it would be the lightest possible way with suspension, then probably just hook your shocks onto the axle and body
