Building a go kart (thread 2)

Ok its me again :)
I finally made a paln of my kart and have started constructing it. The engine i got is from a motorbike. Its a Yamaha DT 2 stroke engine not sure about horse power etc but u will probably now from the pics. Will this engine be able to power the kart which is made up from 30mm square tube with 3mm thickness (thats abit heavy) ?

Also, the engine as you can see from these pictures will be mounted on the side of the kart. Will this make any difference in the driving of the kart because there will be a bit more weight on the right side of the kart and so i duno if that will be a problem or not.






One more thing, i will go tomorrow to buy wheels for it and i found some cheap off road ones with both rims and tyres together. THey are 7''. Are those a reasonable size

?? 7" tires, is that the rim or the total higth of the tire ? If its the higth then forget those. On a kart like that your not going to want to go smaller then 15" higth on the rear tires.

I went and got 1 wheel with its rims. It is an 8'' and i also got the spindles and brakes with it. Do you guys think its a gd purchase or?
