Acquired this frame about 10 years ago with a decked alcohol Briggs and Stratton setup that the guy used for flat track racing. Rode it a few times but barely because the brakes and steering barely worked. Sat for years got bored between car builds about 4 years ago and decided to start building it so I bought a bunch of stuff and sold the old engine due to maintenance and overall reliability decided to just run a predator 212. Cleaned up the frame and fixed some stuff had my brother paint it rode it like twice and then moved across the country and it’s sat until now. So this week decided to jump back on it and fix all the stuff I didn’t like or could do better. I’m just waiting on some tubing to finish the front because I moved the pedals up and decided to go a different route with the seat because I couldn’t find a cover for the old one which I’m pretty sure was a one off and couldn’t find any information on. Just waiting on some parts now to finish fabrication and fix a few more things and should be good to go. Hope y’all enjoy. Side note if anyone could steer me in the direction of where to find the 2 piece rubber bushings for the axle hanger brackets that would be awesome because I can’t seem to find any other karts with this setup.

DENO1994....I really like your kart, nice build.

What kind of axle bearing brackets are those, and where did you find them ?
Also what is the length of the spindle barrels, where the kingpin bolt goes through?

thanks.

Appears that you must be talking about the square brackets with the rear axle going through them. Has flangette bearings on the outside, is there another set on the inside? Can't see well enough to tell. Are you talking about the rubber bushings in the pairs of barrels fore and aft of the square brackets on each side that the square brackets are bolted to, hanging under the rear end? There's bushings in them now, if that's what you mean then what's wrong with the current rubber? What size rear axle is that? Pretty long unsupported extension out to the wheels, looks like any big bump at speed would bend the axle.

Thanks! Spindles are 2 3/4 and I have no idea where those brackets came from unfortunately.

That’s correct I am referring to the bushings in the barrels, the rubber is awful and very old. And the axle is only 8.5 inches from bearing to wheel mount overall length is 3ft. Same setup it had for racing for years problem free so I’m sure it’ll be fine.

Better look at the brackets
Twin bearings, nice, I'm a big fan of extra bearings. ...............Larry Hecht has some Herco hard rubber cord in many O.D.'s to fit in a barrel, available cut in any length, and will bore through it in any I.D. you want. He ain't real cheap, and C.K. says he's a complete azz (I agree), but he can fab up anything you want, see link to catalog page 50 below...............

Wow, that's a really cool kart (y)

I'd suggest you post a thread asking if anyone recognizes the brand & model at this forum page:
General Karting Discussion | Bob's 4 Cycle Karting
That whole forum concentrates on oval-track racekarts and they have lots of older members that will probably recognize it's unique features.

This place sells those Neoprene CR Bushings.
Neoprene Bushings & CR bushings|Rubber Sleeve Bushing|insulating bushing (grommetseal.com)
Looks like you'd just need to contact them with your I.D. / O.D. & length...

Looking at the link for neoprene bushings anderkart posted above, I like the pictured ones that have a metal tube insert. Allows for some meaningful tightening down of bolts going through it without compressing the vibrasorber material. Don't know if that suits your application, but it's something worth considering whether existing has it or not.

Yes forsure and it’s similar to what’s in it now. My stepdad used to repair haas machinery so I may see if he knows anyone that could cast some polyurethane bushings just cause it lasts forever and looks a little cleaner I’m sure it’s more expensive though.

Thank you! And I appreciate that link that is definitely the style I am looking for and I will definitely try that I’ve looked around quite a bit and can’t find any similar frames.

Good job on fabbing up the front of that frame. Curious here, is that tubing (the top unfinished one) stainless steel? Regardless, what method did you use to fab the nice curvature on those 2 rounded sections?

I used regular 3/4 steel. Stainless is a pain to weld and I just used a manual bender cause I sold my hydraulic one 😩 it’s not perfect but it’s good enough.
