Wil still be a noob when im finished this beast lol takes years to get past that stage i reckon lol
Right back to the project, its mainly taking up time re-doing things of finding a more accurate way to measure and mark lol (never find an easier way though) I tend to measure a dozen times cut once rather than even just measure twice....

Sooo I have had my roll bars bent, bottom chassis mk2 is rebuild, top chassis just needs couple guesets im putting in welded. Im working on the suspension arms and steering set up at the moment (taking special care it wont go in circles when u plant the foot lol)

An extra long shift is planned for today, hoping to have the bottom and top chassis tacked together at least.Also due too space issues it will also mean i need to start on a toatal overhall of my workshop

Forward progress is being made; there can be days where, that's all you can hope for. And I can really sympathise with you about how it seems that some projects just kind of morph into "THE PROJECT THAT REFUSES TO DIE!!"

Oh, and one other thing; speaking from personal experience, operating power tools such as angle grinders, chop saws, etc with a hangover is just a bad idea. They just don't go together at ALL.

Hah yeh ttly agree does nothing for my head aswell. i stuck to minimal work with files and hacksaws yesterday haha. i tried the angle grinder later that night but just made my head ache come on again lol

All good today so im away to get some gas and fiddle about with some jobs. its getting to the point where moneys holding me back which sucks baws.

Wee question i need to mount my seat, its a bucket with side mounts so i know what i need to make but i do not have a bender. is there anyone here who has mad alternatives? heres a pic of oficcial sparco ones

Why must u bend them?

1 Get two boys of flat bar
Drill required holes
Weld together

2 get angle iron
Dril holes
Cut out unwanted material

3 get sheet metal strip
Drill holes
Put on edge of bench and hammer into right angle

i did consider that and i was secretly hoping someone would reply with an example of one of your suggestions abaove. Cheers chap its awffy handy your usually on at same sort of time as i haha.
option 1 will prob b best for me as i cannot find large enough angle thin enough and my hammering bench is had enough abuse for now

My seat is an edge fibreglass one and is bolted to rails in the floor

Just a bit extra on this one: If you clamp the sheet between two pieces of angle, you get a much cleaner bend...

I am little worried about sheet being too thin though you can see in all the Aftermarket mounts they come out slightly wide at the bottom back on itself then to vertical. i presume this improves strength.

Think thats why i want a bender lol i have some 4mm lying around. i may get the blowtorch out and try cut a small gvoove on the outside of the bend. head her up then bash away. see how it bends lol sound plausable?
