Yeah the wheel is out of scale but I think it will help her turn it easier. I also cut the pittman arm and shortened it for the same reason.

I wish torque converters were cheaper! Where's the best deal?

For your next build just use a sled or mc engine. Sled comes with tc, and mc comes with manual clutch and gear box, both can easily pull big loads.

I do like the sled idea. I want this to be easy for anyone to drive though so a mc wouldn't fit the bill.

Problem is I'm in love with the HF Blue pricing now. I'd love to just drop a 6.5 in for around $100 with discount. If anything goes really wrong - just grab another.

Right, but sleds can be had cheap also, and if you get the whole thing you also get shocks, hydraulic disc brakes, and tons of very useful nuts and bolts. I've gotten a few free parts sleds, and when i take them apart i keep all the nuts and bolts, i cant tell you how much time and money i have spent by using them instead of going to the hardware store every time i need something.

I'm also torn between making a shifter kart, or leaving the cent clutch and tecumseh engine, i'm looking for the easy to drive thing also, because if i ride it with friends, i know the shifting is going to be a problem. Plus a lot of people dont understand they cant just keep it redlined.

anyways, my vote is sled engine.

Got the remote shutoff done. Just need to mount in on the chassis. This will give me some more piece of mind. My daughter drove it for about 1/2 hour today and everything performed flawlessly. She loved it. It really has a lot of power for such a tiny engine. She was throwing up a gravel/grass roostertail for a lot of the time. She did not want to quit.

I've never built anything that looks as devious as this device. I doubt I could get it on a commercial flight!! lol

Probably have $400 into it. Got the wheels, engine at HF and the sprocket, clutch, spindles at mfgsupply.

I hope I am not resurrecting the post too late here. Fantastic build, very well put together cart I can imagine your daughter will have a ball with it. The remote shut off is a clever idea I am going to be building a kart for my nephew here in the near future, what all do you have in that bomb looking device? Would you mind doing a write up on how to build one?
