So I have two questions the second may answer the first.

1) as Im riding with full throttle once in awhile the motor will cut out for a second then continue on... what might be possible causing of this? I've cleaned the carb twice and have resealed all the gasket areas.

2) As I finished a trip down the road today I noticed bubbles coming out of a hole on the carb (pictured below). Is something supposed to be in this hole or should I just seal it? Might that be my issue of the motor cutting out?

Thanks
-Matt

Had some issues with this before

Hi Matt,
How does the spark plug look after running the kart? There are two possible causes,
1) You have sealed your gasket surfaces between the tank and carb with permatex, permatex is soluable in gas and there is a very big problem with it dissolving and plugging up the screens in the carb, especially at the bottom of the pickup tube going into the tank. This could be restricting the fuel to the carb enough that It is leaning the motor out until the fuel pump can put enough gas back into the carb, Make sure there is no permatex anywhere in fuel passages and I would reccomend buying the paper gaskets.
2) The fuel running out of the vent indicates that there is a problem in the fuel metering, and the carb is flooding. I am not sure where the float is on that carb, but check that the needle is sealing correctly.

These problems should not happen at the same time, but the plug should tell you what you need to know, good luck

well the gasket sealent I had just put on today to try to seal the paper gasket better because it all seemed wet around that area.. and have now found out that it does dissolve in gas since the engine is no longer running at all. So time to pull it all apart.

I dont believe that the carb was flooded at the time that the bubbling was occurring because I had just leaned out the carb before I went for the run seeing if I could tune it better to get the cutting out to stop.

removed all the sealant and re-cleaned the carb including all the jet holes. It runs fine except it still cuts out on full throttle sometimes. Anybody else have any ideas what it could be besides dirty carb? The throttle cable is hooked up right to the carb with no governor.

Does it cut out cruising or only when you floor it? Gas out the vent is normal with a full tank and rough riding, there is no metering system on these, the pump just pumps the bowl full till it overflows back into the tank.

well cruising at a consistent speed which is often flooring it... would a new diaphragm help at all? as I still have the original one as far as I know.
