I never said I didn't understand the dangers or safety concerns. No-one said it wasn't dangerous so your'e neither right nor wrong.

Safety is always the first priority. Some people are just not as sage as others. He did what he did because he knew it would work, and it did. Should he have had more caution? There is never enough precautions to take when it come to dealing with deadly chemicals it just depends on whatever safety equipment we have at our disposal.

I flagged it for the fact that he basically just threw a chemical cocktail out there, without any details of how to handle the mess safely, let alone how to legally dispose of the mess. Myself and several others have already commented on that, and have basically been ignored.

I don't understand what you want. Remove the thread completely, make him re-write it in a context that's legal and logically explained with planned out safety measures?

He wrote it, you added to it, we learned from it. Thanks for that.

Chances are not one of is going to go and mimic this process. It's much easier to use penetrating oil before you attempt to remove any bolts. According to California Penetrating Lube causes cancer so yea w.e. gets the job done.

Ok, this seems to be getting a bit heated ('scuse the pun); I agree that the chemicals used are extremely dangerous (as stated by the OP) & must be used under strict guidelines but, it appears some of you seem to think safety is NOT an issue; most of us take safety very seriously...

As a result, I'm closing this thread...

Agree with both sides here. Thank you for the info, but I probably won't be trying this ever. That said it's available knowledge, and I think that we have detailed the risks here, LIKE DYING.

If you didn't catch that earlier, LD 50 @ .5 grams / kg means that a lethal dose in 50% of people is .5grams per kilogram, or 2.25 ounces of the substance for a 150 pound person.
