It depends what type of mods are you talking about mild mods like intake and exhaust, or major mods like race parts ,and is your carburetor clean?

Because it feels guilty for driving on a public road?

Is it being killed by the clutch not disengaging? What does it idle like warm and cold....it's really hard to say...could be too high an idle or too low or even a partially clogged idle circuit....

A video would be most helpful, but a little more information may get us there....

Welcome to the forum.

I had the same exact problem with the engine dying after coming to a stop. Once I cleaned all ports in the carburetor with carb cleaner I worked perfectly. I assume it is because letting off the gas when clogged will have the engine without enough force the eject the gas through the clogged region.

Yeah....to clarify, the carb is drawing in fuel basically by the action of suction....and above throttle...the velocity and volume of air is creating enough suction to draw enough fuel through the clogged passages.....

To make an anology....if you squeeze a soda straw nearly shut....you may be able to suck hard enough to still get a pretty good drink, however, with the same amount of force that would normally give you a good sip, may not get there....

But, there are other possibilities.....

Sounds like you were having the same problem as me. It worked like a champ, but then when I got back on, I would even clank. So what I recommend is take out the dish underneath the carb (that holds the gas) very carefully and efficiently, and clean both small holes. I had no problems afterward once I did this.
