so after dropping money on new springs, blah, blah, blah, i started working on the recoil and finally got that back together, so now im working on the engine, this engine will idle at a high speed but not low like it should, if its low it hunts and then dies off, and refuses to start without using the choke, if i give it throttle, it will run, then start to die, then when you rev it up it takes a few times to get power back, and then revs and starts all over, me and my neighbor have being trying to tune it for about an hour and half, so then we took apart the adjuster and main jet, seemed clean as could be, so i got home, drained my gas, and took of the gas tank to make sure the feed tubes and all werent dangling or loose, they were as tight as could be, so i put it together and the problem still persists, any ideas? im thinking carb diaphram

ill try tommarow, would you guys pay 6 dollars for an exhaust gasket? makes me mad sometimes.and that would explain the reason every engine seems to hate me, and a bit off topic, but i can never have my mini bike and go kart running at the same time, because 1,they never seem to be together at the same time and 2 i wouldnt be able to decide which one to ride, i love my clone, but my briggs has almost the same speed,

nothing wrong with variety. Ya I was looking on AGK for some intake gaskets and they are 2 dollars ea which isn't bad, but the darn shipping is 12 dollars! I gotta find a local shop or try my luck with my art skills(fail).

my local wanted 6 bucks for the gasket, it very well upset me, and i put in an advanced key last night, it backfired spit, acted like a peice of crap, wouldnt start and backfired on me about twice till i was like, whatever, pulled it all off, pulled off my flywheel, and i was suprised to see my advanced timing key sheared into a triangle,

it was about as tight as you could get it while using a screwdriver to block the flywheel, a screwdriver and hammer to tighten it down, i hit it till it didnt move anymore,

Well here's your sign. Of all the parts in an engine, this is probably one of the most important to torque to spec. Not over torque, not under torque, but torque to spec.

also are you sure the intake gasket would be a problem? ive never had the carb all the way off the engine, so this might be a good thing to look at

Ya if I need to make new ones I'll just make some out of some cereal box and see how that works.

Even if it only lasts 2 months it's cheap and easy to replace.
