briggs 8.25 series throttle cable ?

Hi all....Help if you can...I have a 8.25 series briggs engine I want to use on my cart I'm building. I use the motor on my log splitter all winter but figure why not use it on the cart in the summer ! Under the gas tank is a series of levers and springs. Is a kit or way of hooking up a throttle cable available ? No problem at the pedal....just a problem at the motor !! Thanks in advance for any ideas !! Bud.

Model number and pics please. Rather have pics to be honest as it saves us from doing side research on what exactly you have.

Your engine is throttle-controlled by the governor and not directly to the throttle/butterfly on the carb. Most if not all are like this.

Most likely you have a throttle hand lever that stays where you put it.
Loosen (just enough) the nut that holds that lever where you set it.
So it wants to return to idle.
Add a small spring to help it return to idle.
Then you can just hook the throttle cable coming from the pedal to this lever.

But without pics This is still Speculation.

Hi....YES...That is the motor I have with the plate under the gas tank !! I loosened up the nut and it looks like I need a small bracket to hold the cable and one to hold a return spring and that might do it !! I'm sure I can come up with something !! Thank you so much !
