Briggs 5 HP & Predator 6.5 HP Filter Adapters

Hearken ye people and hear ye this!

One of our resident craftsmen, FiremanJim has set to making racing style air filter adapters for the above named engines in aluminum.

The Briggs adapter was born out of a desire to have a more performance oriented air filter for the engine, disposing of the overly complicated factory 'clamshell' air box in favor of reusable, washable, racing "cone" filter.

The same can be said of the Predator air filter adapter; for performance, ease-of-use reasons or to dispose of the clunky, overbuilt factory airbox in favor of a cleaner, more "bling" appearance.

Please give him your feedback in the current thread below, even if you're not personally invested or interested in the project, on what you would like either adapter to look like and any features you think they should have, etc.

Give Fireman Jim an earful on what features you'd like to see in these filter adapters, whether it be for a Briggs, Predator or whatever.

Remember, these are custom so you won't be like everyone else; all those fellas who buy their plain-Jane, mass-produced stuff OTS (off the shelf).

My 130212 series B&S flatty is nearing completion and the direct-to-throttle Raptor-style linkage will not work in conjunction with the standard air filter box, which covers the entire carburetor...
