Yea I was right about the clutch. On the last picture there os a plate that holds those on right? If so are the mounts that hold them on all there? Sorry I have no idea where to get the screw.

Your spring is destroyed. It should stand straight out.

Its better to just buy a whole new clutch. The spring was obviously overheated. Which means that other parts were damaged.

The thing that holds the weights in, on the plate.

If by these things you mean mounts then yes they are all there.

That clutch is toast. You don't have to order that clutch online, most local mower shop have them and hardware stores. BTW take the sprocket with you to the hardware store and match up the bolt probably 5/16" bolt but no way to tell without looking at it up close. A trip to the hardware store is what you need =)

Yea that is what I ment. Mine got 1 of those tabs bent and 1 chewed off.

Does anyone have a pic of the type of bolt/screw that goes into the sprocket? like is it an allen head, bolt, phillips head screw? or does it even matter as long at it will screw into the hole?

However if you have enough room to use a normal bolt, that would be better.

Why would a normal bolt be better? how hard is it to re-coil the starter rope? and how do i get to it?, the shroud looks like it has rivets and i have no idea how to get those out.

oh some of those recoils, cant be rewound. Does yours use the centrifugal dogs or the star shaped piece to start your engine?IIRC, If it has the centrifugal dogs, you cant fix it, you have to replace it.

no idea what it uses never had it apart before. unless you can tell from the outside? the rope just hangs out more than it used to, it still starts it and all just wondering how i can get it back to normal.

you can get a normal bolt tighter, set screws always seem to shake out.

that's was probably why mine is gone then, ill look for a bolt to fit then first and if i cant find anything ill get a set screw i guess. also if worst comes to worst since i do not have a welder would jb-weld work to weld the sprocket to the axle?

Never weld a sprocket to your axle, sprockets wear and getting it off when you need to replace it will be a *****. Im sure you'll be able to find the right bolt for it.

Eh, welding is a last resort if truly needed. Sometimes axles are so rusted that its impossible to get wheels off much less move the sprocket it is loose. We've had to do that before on yerf-dogs when they store them outside but something gets dislodged.

mine was stored inside and im pretty sure i can get it off, i just need to get a screw/bolt for it.

Knurl ends would be helpful for a set screw, try grangers once you've checked your threading, if its simply quarter inch regular thread see if you cant order a 5 pack or something from your local store, they dont require business accounts and are not the worst in the world in prices if you cant get it anywhere else.

I'm a bit disturbed by the man in solomon's video who doesn't know the word starter clutch, I stopped watching the video when he called it a thingy.
