Is it normal to hear a hissing sound coming out of the breather ? I just replaced it and I don't remember hearing this noise before.
I can hear it when I'm cranking the engine over.
Also, can .010 oversized rings be installed on a stock piston ? If so, it looks like the only rings available are the regular rings which I think are not chrome moly. I thought I read that if you use chrome moly rings you don't need to deglaze the cylinder but if the rings are not chrome moly than you do need to deglaze. I'm having trouble with oil up in the head and I replaced the rings with standard chrome rings and I'm still getting oil. How long does it take for rings to seat?
I don't have a bore gauge so I can't measure the bore to see if it's worn out. I'm going to check the valve guides tomorrow with a go-no-go stick, maybe it's the valve guides that are letting the oil up in the head. The intake valve stem looks dry and the exhaust valve stem is covered with a black sooty material.
Starting to get a little frustrating....
