Finding a brake switch banjo bolt is probably your best option, but if you can’t put a switch on your master cylinder, use a microswitch on a linkage or on your pedal. I did it with my kart and it works great. Just buy some little cheap microswitches with the roller on the switch arm, and mount it up where it either opens or closes when the pedal is pushed.
The beauty of a microswitch is that you can do it either way; you can close the circuit by either pushing the switch or releasing it, depending on which terminals you hook up.
This is how I did it on my kart. I put a linkage between my pedal and the arm that moves the master cylinder and put the microswitch on the arm, but I suppose the pedal would work too.
