hello everyone new here and not computer smart, but here goes, looking for front brakes ideas, I built a custom 58 vette go kart, tons of body work, and custom frame narrowed to fit body over engine as seen in pictures, wanted the only vette kart ive seen so far with engine under tilt body, has predator 212 with all the goodies, kart spins a bit on take off then flys, not looking for top end, built to look like race car, and would like to spin more at car shows, I tried the rear metal pads on the front though, didn't work, tried a kinda e-brake with a rubber pad that drags on ground, not so much, no room to put a disc brake set up on front, as body tight and wheels stuffed under body, engine has governor removed, billet rod, billet flywheel, mod 2 cam, 18lb springs and a tva torque converter, 72 tooth sprocket, spring is coming and was just seeing if anyone has any ideas before I just say screw it and live with it lol thanks AL

You can get them for off-road go Karts, you can probbably get ones meant for Chinese ATVs on eBay. I think reds beards garage on YouTube set them up on his 670 go kart that burned down. He may get have explained it in his video series. You could put them on by moving the front tires out wider but I remember the disc being a little smaller then normal. Here’s a link to one sold by gopowersports:

thanks, but front tires cannot go out wider as the body sits over them, I checked out red beards and they would work if I didn't have a body. thanks for idea AL

Its kinda a redesign of the whole thing as the front end needs to be designed with the front brakes in mind....

What is wrong with the rear brake so far???

Oh and that seat belt is for looks right, not actual use(No cage no belt)????

Make a simple linkage with a hand lever to a friction brake that presses on the front tires. Should be enough to extend your burnout a bit. And not super-duper hard to build.

Could you raise the front of the body up for more clearance and then put the brake kit on? I think you did a great job on it. It looks pretty sweet.
