Brake disc for brake caliper?

Hi, so I'm working on a mini-chopper similar to the one on the main page and I guess because I don't plan things very well I kinda didnt leave a big enough gap between the tire and the sprocket for my disc-brake caliper. ANYWAYS... I was just wondering if a sprocket is a good enough substitute for the actual brake disc? I work at princess auto, which I think is the only place to get parts here short of ordering them online, and since the discs are all sold out and way more expensive then a sprocket, should I just use a sprocket on the other side of the tire as a brake disc? I kinda wanna find something quick cuz i'm getting anxious to keep workin on this thing. Any advice or ideas would be really appreiciated cuz im really trying to learn as I go here.

A sprocket will work well as a disc, it takes a bit for the sprocket to wear in, but after that it will look like a brake disc.
You can probably barely see it, but thats what I did on this bike.

thanks alot, i'm glad to hear that that will work so well. they're easier to attach too because the actual discs dont seem to come on many sizes.
