Brake Cable Installation woes

I’m new to the group and building my first go kart for my grandson. I bought a frame and motor from a neighbor. I’m at the point where I’m installing the brake cable from the front pedal to the brake mounted around the clutch.

I can’t figure out what I need to connect the brake cable to the pedal. Below are some pics of what I have. Thanks for any help!!

Ya, I didn't pay enough attention to the ends when I ordered it. I think I figured it out though. I made a sleeve with a slot that will connect to the pedal. I'll post a pic when its done.

Thanks All for your input! I've attached some pictures of the coupler I machined to overcome the obstacle. I've also added some pictures of what I started with and the finished machine. Grandson loves it, but I need to slow it down a bit, it's pretty fast! Thanks again!!

Use gearing to slow it down a bit. Do not try and limit the throttle travel. I cannot remember if you had a centrifugal clutch at all, but lowering the RPM's will just cause the clutch to slip all the time and wear out. It will never fully engage. CC clutches are meant to be either engaged or disengaged. Slipping causes wear and damage

That kart probably had a rod and not a cable for the brakes.

Great advice! I was going to limit the throttle, glad you posted this! I'm assuming best way is to make a smaller wheel sprocket, correct? Currently the sprocket on the wheel is about 13" in diameter.

No.... way to hard to make a new sprocket...(I suppose if one were so inclined and had the know how and tooling to do so) Cheaper to buy a new one...

With that being said...
What is the gearing now, as in the tooth count... not diameter of the sprocket...
Also what is the OD of the rear tire??? as if a bigger than what you have is needed, it cant exceed the OD of the tire.
